ABOUT

personal-5.jpeg

Kelton Osborn is a mixed media artist working in drawing, painting, and abstract sculpture. Born and raised in southern Colorado, Osborn was captivated at a young age by a local steel mill which provided early appreciation for the aesthetics of industrial buildings and machinery.

Having studied architecture and printmaking at the University of New Mexico, Osborn’s work is rooted in themes of spatial formalities and spontaneous drawing. He employs several mediums to create base images that are then selectively obscured to reveal fragments and veiled information. This process is intuitive, resulting in compositions not conceived prior to starting the painting. Osborn views his work as the opportunity to explore ideas that relate to past experiences, including influences from his childhood and education.

Osborn has received several large-scale public art commissions throughout Colorado and has been collected by numerous private collections.

Osborn lives and works in Denver, Colorado with his wife and daughter.
